He wanted to drive but is not tall enough.
We are in Kearney, Nebraska right now, getting ready to head to Des Moines. We will be in Michigan by Wednesday. On the way I want to go see The Field of Dreams site.
Not too much to report so far but will try to be more interesting in the future.
O
Made it to Colorado.
Buddy and I arrived yesterday in Thornton, Colorado after a 3 day drive from Sacramento.
Well, I am on the road again in the Corvette but this time with my dog Buddy. We will update the blog on a regular basis, with Buddy doing much of the writing. He writes well so it should be entertaining.
We leave in 2 days, July 10th and will be gone for about a month, so follow us if you want.
I am heading out around July 1st on another cross country trip in my Corvette. Only this time I will have a passenger – my dog Buddy. He has been asking to go on the next trip so I couldn’t turn him down.
I am not 100% sure of my route but think it will probably be the Oregon Trail from Portland to Boston.
As soon as I am on the road I will start posting to the blog every evening so if you are interested in following me, take a look the evening of July 1.
I have decided to abort my trip and return home. For all of you that are following my blog, thank you. There will be more trips.
My reason is health. I have had a headache every day for 2 months now. The doctor gave me Prednisone before I left to see if that would stop the headaches. At first it appeared to be helping some, so I left for my trip. However, the headaches are getting worse, so I will go back and the doctor is ordering an MRI, hopefully for next week.
Since this time is blocked off on my calendar, I will do a staycation at home for awhile. So, for my clients, I am still on vacation. 🙂
If anyone wants to contact me, feel free to email me at John@TeamLifeCo.com.
I stayed an extra night here in Grand Junction and am really happy I did!
These are Big Horn Sheep at a placed called Colorado National Monument. It is one of the most amazing places I have ever visited. Even better than the Grand Canyon in some ways. It’s a 23 mile drive through incredible beauty. There are some more pictures below of the scenes. I would plan a visit to Grand Junction just to see this.
Just had to show my car of course. 🙂
After driving almost 1,000 miles in 3 days, I am taking a break and staying over another night in Grand Junction. There is no real schedule so no reason to push it. As much as I love driving my Corvette, I need a little break. Plus, this is a pretty cool place.
I am still trying to upload pictures from my phone without much luck so far, but will do so as soon as I can figure out what I am doing wrong.
Yesterday was a combination of a long stretch of nothing, followed by incredible beauty going across Utah. I have pictures of that and will upload when I can figure it out. Today I am visiting the Colorado National Monument, which is supposed to be amazing. I will take pictures of that and upload as well.
Well, the Loneliest Road lived up to it’s name! Man, 200+ miles of nothing. Actually pretty cool. The best part was I was able to open up my Vette to some cool speeds. Since Paula and my kids will read this, I am not going to reveal how fast I actually went.
I stayed last night here at the Ramada in Ely and am headed to Grand Junction, CO. I took some pictures but am trying to figure out how to load them since it’s been a year. So tonight hopefully I will figure that out.
So nothing too exciting yet but I will try to add some good stuff soon. I will be on the road for 4 or 5 weeks so plenty of time. Hang in there with me.
Packing the Vette and heading out on the Lonliest Road to Ely. 347 miles of nothing as I understand. But I am pretty sure there will be some old diners and things still open. I read there is no cell service on some of it but the car has OnStar so I will have satellite connection at all times.
Hopefully tonight there will be more interesting things for me to share. I have to admit it’s just a little scary to have hundreds of miles with pretty much nothing. But I have a great car and my mechanic Mike in Vacaville checked it out carefully.
